The Origin of “SR” 「
“The way of heaven is round, and the way of earth is square”
‘SR’ represents ‘Square’ and ‘Round’ which depicts ‘the Earth and the Heaven’ in the ‘Tai’ Hexagram of “I Ching”. The ‘Tai’ Hexagram indicates that Heaven and Earth are in harmony, combining influences to bring peace and prosperity upon all living things.
‘Round’ symbolizes the continuous movement and eternity of the ‘Heaven’, while ‘Square’ symbolizes order and harmony on the ‘Earth’. The relationship between ‘Heaven’ and ‘Earth’, and the ‘Round’ and ‘Square’ shapes has long been established in Chinese culture. This philosophy not only guards the law of the universe and the order of our world, it also influences our perception of art and beauty.
